Halter top and skirt

This 1950s rayon-acetate halter top was derived from an illustration from a catalogue from 1955. This top has a flattering shape that works well on women with higher bust to waist ratios. The lower part of the bodice has two darts while the top of this piece is pleated into the neck ties. The front middrift comes to a point at center front and has shaped side seams. The back middrift has a princess line and buttons up the back.

This navy blue rayon linen skirt was created with swing dancers in mind. The length of the skirt is shorter than would have been acceptible during this period. However, this would have been appropriate for a performance on stage or for screen. We have found that this skirt swishes beautifully on the dance floor and can be worn with the Bikini Top, Sweetheart Top or the Maxine blouse.

Machine washable in cold water.
