1950s

Kirk

The Kirk shirt is similar in cut to the Johnny. Based on a vintage pattern from the mid-1950s, this wide collared shirt reflects the acceptance of more casual attire for men as the post-war social activities turned towards family with past-times such as the barbeque. You will note that many shirts from this period do not have collar stands. The burgundy voile Egyptian cotton fabric has gray & orange finely woven into a windowpane pattern. The buttons are vintage gray mother of pearl that matches the grey found in the fabric. The Kirk shirt can be worn tucked into the trousers or left out.

Shirt may dry cleaned or machine washed in cold water.
