1930s

Pepper

Recreated from a vintage pattern from 1933, Pepper embodies some of the more ingenious design elements of 1930's fashion unseen in contemporary clothing. This bone, tan and blue linen cotton belted dress made up of 8 pieces. The bodice yoke encorporates the front sleeve and has an abbreviated shirt waisted element that finishes at the bust point. The shaped skirt front is attached to the bodice yoke. The back of the dress is in three parts. The center back has a "T" shape as the length of this panel encorporates the back of the sleeves. Sewn with the front sleeves, they create a point. The side back panels are stitched below the armholes. The Pepper has a Peter Pan collar, self covered buttons and asymmetrical belt. The dress has a zipper at the side.
