Baxter has a French pedigree as this design was extracted from a Bayard catalogue circa 1935. Baxter is an avant-garde silhouette that would have been worn by men who flaunted convention. While today this ensemble seems rather conservative, etiquette from the period would have dictated that menèÅ_s fashion never push the boundaries of correct attire. BaxterèÅ_s exaggerated silhouette would have been rather shocking in its time.
The vest is single breasted with contrasting shawl collar and sports 4 functioning single welt pockets and 6 buttons. Both the vest and trousers are stitched in tan, teal and brown linen-rayon plaid. Shown with the Avery Shirt.
