Rosalind
The Rosalind ensemble consists of four pieces. The jacket and skirt were based on a vintage pattern from 1946. The slacks are a tribute to women's pant designs that were fashionable at the time. And the Rosalind blouse was recreated from a vintage pattern from 1944.

The chocolate-brown wool crepe, belted jacket has tailored yet blouse-like look. The bodice front has shoulder darts that end underneath the crest-shaped, patch pockets stitched at the bust. The lower part of the bodice gathers into a 2" waistband that accomodates the bust. The peplum is smoothly stitched into the lower half of the belt. The sleeves are slim and gather into a 1 1/2" wristband. The Rosalind jacket is enhanced by vintage buttons.

The Rosalind blouse has many interesting components. The front of the blouse has double fisheye darts on each side that create a smooth shape while tailoring the blouse to the body. The upper portion gathers into a small shoulder yoke. The sleeves have four darts at the top that create a straight line from the shoulder and is supported with a set in shoulder pad. The base of the sleeve has a small tuck. The blouse has a shaped, self collar and four black floral button closure. The Rosalind blouse is stitched in a creme cotton voile with tiny blue and olive stars.

The Rosalind skirt is a refreshing reprieve from the basic A-line skirt ubiquitous in the mid-1940s. Stitched in chocolate-brown wool crepe, the front of the skirt has box pleats for added fullness that are covered with a double yoke applique. The skirt has a zipper at the left side and 1" waistband.

The Rosalind slacks have the high waist, long rise and full-legged silhouette popular in the 1940s. The front of the slacks have a single dart at each side for a smooth line from waist to hip. The waistband is 1" wide and the slacks have a center back zipper and 1" hem.
