1950s

Simone

Simone is a two-piece ensemble consisting of a blouse and skirt. The blouse is derived from a vintage pattern from 1955. Simone's skirt is a homage to the high-waisted pencil skirts popular during this time period. The steel grey, wool and camel hair, crepe fabric is a luxurious material for this sexy, slender, pencil skirt. The Hollywood waist rests on the body just below the ribs. The front of the skirt has two darts that shape the skirt from waist to hip. The skirt tapers dramatically from the hip to the 2" hem and has a kick pleat at center back to aid in walking.

Simone's blouse is stitched in creme and black, pinstriped, cotton broadcloth. The front of the blouse has gathers that are set into the collar and fisheye darts that create a smooth line. The dolman sleeves are shaped at the shoulder with darts and are three-quarter in length. They feature upturned assymetrical cuffs. The collar and cuffs are sewn in white, cotton poplin.

Skirt is dry clean only.
Blouse may dry cleaned or machine washed in cold water.
