Nigel is fine representation of 1920s plus fours. These knickerbockers are called"plus fours" because the inseam of the pant leg is 4 inches below the knee that creates more blousing of the fabric at the knee band than traditional knickers. In the day, a gentleman could purchase knickers that came to the knee, plus twos, plus fours, plus sixes, and for an extremely blousy and exaggerated look, plus eights. The Nigel plus fours have double pleats at the front for a full leg. The front pockets are set in the side seams and the back pockets have double welts. Nigel has a 1 1/2 inch waistband and knee bands that button close. They can be made in either medium brown linen-cotton or a dark brown wool gabardine.
Please note that the dark brown wool gabardine will be $25 extra.
