This springtime day dress was recreated from a 1921 fashion plate. Matilda is stitched in a red and white cotton windowpane. The loose fitting bodice is gathered into the waist of the dirndl skirt. The sash attached at the front bodice inset and ties in the back. The collar is bound in red binding as is the top of the inset offset by 5 red buttons. Matilda?s patch pockets and three-quarter length sleeves are both accented with white ruffles .
