Derived from a vintage pattern from 1932, Hope embodies simple elegance. Her long sleek lines represent the transition from the boxy lines of the 20s to the more figure flattering long slim lines of the 30s. This dress is stitched in an Italian houndstooth variation in cream, tan and brown. Hope has a huge collar that was a repeated in the 70s. The bodice is uncomplicated with only one shaping dart under the arm and easing at the front and back waist. The front of the skirt has very deep pleats in which patch pockets are set. The skirt back is shaped at the waist. It also has a 4 inch hem. The dress buttons up the front with 11 brown buttons dyed to match.
